DAT Optic Inc introduces 1394b-4IDE - a FireWire 800/400 bridge board to attach FOUR ATA/ATAPI devices to provide a connection solution to greater flexibility of different configuration:

- SPAN - A single volume of FOUR HDD, up to 2.0TB
- RAID 0 - Four HDD Stripe configuration for the highest transfer rate
- RAID 1 - Two set of HDD configured as Mirror for the data redundant
- JBoD = or Just Bunch of Drive

Once connected thru FireWire, attached drives are detected and mounted automatically with the appropriate protocol.

1394b-4IDE is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for ATA hard disk drive. 1394b-4IDE has two IDE channels. Each IDE channel can attach two (Master and Slave) ATA drives.

1394b-4IDE provides RAID (Spanning, Striping and Mirroring) function. 1394b-4IDE is aimed at higher-speed multimedia file storage application. 1394b-4IDE provides the perfect solution for video or image file storage and transferring of data between computers using ATA devices.
