Customize NAS OS base on Linux or FreeBSD and applications are embedded in the flash USB DOM that offers higher stability guaranteed. Moreover, the hardware RAID is utilized with over 200MB/s+ transfer rate that will ensure there is absolutely NO bottle neck internally, therefore maximizing utilization bandwidth of dual Intel Gb Ethernet ports.

The Most Affordable and Flexible iSCSI Solution
The eBOX-N can serve as a NAS and/or an iSCSI target server with or without data encryption. The built-in iSCSI target feature provides an affordable IP-SAN (Storage Area Network) alternative for SMB. The server managers can set up the NAS to expand the storage capacity for existing application servers, such as database server and mail server in an economical way. Moreover, the innovative "Virtual Space Allocation" (Thin Provisioning) feature is provided which allows the server managers to flexibly allocate the capacity of iSCSI LUN (Logical Unit Number) at the beginning, regardless of the physical volume capacity.

Easy Setup, Low-Cost Maintenance
The handy LCD display on the eBOX-N provides a speedy and easy approach for IT administrators to initialize the NAS and set up the RAID configuration without using any computer, and of course you can remotely control the eBOX-N via ANY web browser.

Customer Reviews

I am once again, very happy with my eBOX-N Review by Tim Maloney
I have the results of my research! First off, forget FreeNAS 9. What a pain - nothing ever worked right and I lost functionality. That's because the FreeNAS project got sold to another company and they rewrote the code base. Maybe it works better for them? The old codebase, the old FreeNAS x.7, continues on as NAS4Free. Go find that and you can safely upgrade. It was a snap - the same interface, same disks, same everything. The advantage to me was hat the Firefly server now plays well with iTunes. I can see and play all my MP3s from anywhere in the house now, and can make playlists, etc. The DLNA player is the same as before, so the TiVX box works great and the iPAD can connect. I'm still using 8Player to do that. The new server also does torrents, and I'm looking into setting up "OWnCloud" which is like a cloud server you set up at home hat you can access anywhere else. You may not need any of these things or care about them, I realize! But I thought you might want to know how it all worked out for me in the end. I've restored all the files I destroyed out of ignorance, so all is right with the world over here, and I am once again, very happy with my NAS! (Posted on 8/19/2013)
Best Tech Support and Superior Products Review by Steve G
First I have to say I'm a novice and I had no clue how to set up the eBOX-N. Utilizing the online chat service and phone calls, Sam was able to walk me thru the complete setup. He's always there to lend a hand and to explain just what needs to be done. I these days of poor Technical suppport from many vendors, it's refreshing to get support from DatOptic when I needed it, in terms I could understand and with patients and courtesy. Congratulations to a top notch company. (Posted on 10/10/2011)

It's a HARDWARE RAID! Review by MiBolsa
I got this unit base on the cost expandable to 10xHDD and review from Mike - Knowing a little bit about computer system, i open and take a look. A whole 5x hdd connect via a SINGLE SATA cable! Turn out it's a SPM394 hardware raid controller To see how good this is. I remove a HDD while is running, and inserted back after 10min. 8TB rebuilt in 7hrs. ... This is a great NAS system BTW, Bittorrent is a function that i use 24/7. Never runing out thing to watch (Posted on 11/9/2010)
This guy is smokin'! Review by Mike Deissler
This guy is smokin'! I've ordered a book on FreeNAS but I have it working now with 5 2TB drives as RAID5 - I was able to copy 1.2TB IN 4.25 hours averaging about 80MB/s - I am interested in getting a hold of the tweaks you made to your system - but this setup is performing great on my TX1000 network. I enabled NIC polling and saw a 10% improvement in throughput although it does use more memory - as they get ZFS more stable you will probably want to increase the MB RAM to 1GB to support it.... ... this is a great solution ! I'd like to see an eSATA, FW800 and Optical ports added to the back panel to make this a killer product - you'd smoke everything that's out there - the BSD UNIX makes for wonderful Mac integration too ! Thanks Very Much ! (Posted on 8/29/2010)
