Details

eBOX-eSUF - Key Features
  • Quiet, external RAID5 five SATA drive with Penta host interface: USB3.0/USB2.0, FireWire400, FireWire 800 and eSATA NEW
  • 15TB Raid volume (3TB HDD) - supports HDD greater than 2.0TB
  • 5x SATA drive as Raid levels: 0 / 1 / 3 / 5 / 10 / SPAN / CLONE and/or JBoD in ANY host interface (new function since Jan 2011)
  • Multiple RAID volumes (requires a SATA host supports PM ware)
  • Very fast: RAID5 sustained transferred rate over 250MB/sec Read or Write - (via eSATA and USB3.0)
  • Raid GUI or/and LCD display for easy control and management
  • Built-in high performance RAID storage processor to handle RAID engine
  • Staggered drive spin up - Hard Disk (Activity/Failed) LED chassis function
  • Email Notification of system status, HDD S.M.A.R.T., and error alarm
  • Automatic detect drive to rebuild degraded RAID
  • S.M.A.R.T array monitoring for hard drive status and reliability

DAT Optic introduces the first cost effective hardware Raid/JBoD five drive system with Penta Quad interfaces: USB3.0, USB2.0, FireWire400, FireWire800, and eSATA.

With our eBOX-eSUF, a 15TB (5x 3.0TB) protected, highly reliable, fast, hot-plug storage in a quiet tower can be realized, or five individual HDD via a SINGLE cable to USB, FireWire or eSATA host. To use it - just simply plug into USB3.0, USB2.0, FireWire400, FireWire800, or eSATA host port. There is no driver or additional software needed.

Flexible Configurations
There is no other enclosure that offers the same flexibility as our eBOX-eSUF. It can change HDD configuration in mere seconds. Since RAID meta-data resides in HDD set, end users can hot-swap the pre-configured HDD, therefore many configuration RAID sets can be used.

  • RAID5 - As storage capacity requirements increase, data storage without drive fault tolerance implement, potential of lost data, down time and lost revenue requirement also increases. Our eBOX-eSUF is RAID5 capable, if a HDD fails and a new HDD is inserted, the built-in RAID5 will able to reconstruct the BAD drive so the data stays intact.
  • JBoD - Just a Bunch of Drive, a perfect solution for weekly back up from Monday to Friday with eSATA, FireWire, or USB2.0 connections.
  • CLONE - Like Mirror mode, but instead 1:1 ratio, CLONE is a mirror 1:n (where n is any number up to five).

High Performance
eBOX-eSUF provides unparalleled level of reliability of protected data for users who demands high transfer rate performance at a fraction of the cost. Our eBOX-eSUF not only provides a highly reliable sustained data rate and protected data, but also a very fast transfer rate! The graphs below show how well the eBOX-eSUF is able to handle a real life scenario.

Monitor and Report
Unlike other RAID systems in the market, eBOX-eSUF fully supports S.M.A.R.T. Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology. Simply use the LCD display to obtain the data or RAID GUI utility.

Email Notification
With a simple set up, our eBOX-eSUF can perform an email notification with selectability from information to critical events. This allows administrators to foresee error read/error write based on S.M.A.R.T feature of each individual HDD.

Embedded RAID Advance Features
Embedded into its hardware RAID controller, the suspend mode and RAID rebuild priority setting functions, these allow end users to customize the configurations per their desire.

Suspend: Set the RAID array to sleep mode within specific idling timing, from 1 to 10922 min (half year or 182 days). Suspend mode will save electricity, make our eBOX-eSUF more environment friendly, and also prolonging the life of hard drives.

RAID Rebuilt Priority Setting:
Allow RAID engine to allocate more I/O CPU to rebuild a degrading RAID or concentrate I/O operating. This will affect the transfer rate when rebuild is needed.

RAID50 T10HR50

DirectAir tm
DirectAir tm forcing air directly into hard drives keep their temperature close to ambient, often resulting in removal of close to 100% heat dissipation. By keeping the hard drive cool, HDDs not only increase stability, but also prolong HDDs life and efficiency.

Save Time and Money
With the new patent connector, end users can use the hard disk just like compact discs or floppy disks are being used. There is no tool or hard drive tray required, just the hard drive itself. It saves time and money, and prolongs SATA HDDs due to NO SCRATCH connections.

FAQ

Q Why only 2TB shows up in my Windows?
A In order to see over 3TB, the RAID volume needs to be partitioned as GPT. This option is only available in XP-64 and later.

Q Why when using FireWire or USB2.0 port, my system does not see the RAID volume?
A A jump cable from D to H needs to be in place, then the RAID volume will show up.
