UB124A has implemented hardware controlled OS independent, four IDE HDD can be easily configure as:
- ONE BIGEST VOLUME - A single volume of FOUR HDD, up to 2.0TB
- TWO BIG VOLUME - Two big volume of Ttwo HDD spanning , up to 1.5TB each (3.0TB total)
- JBoD - Four individual volume upto 750GB each

Note: Due USB2.0 limitation of 32bit OS, maximun capacity USB can recognized per volume is 2.0TB (32bit OS), where 64bit OS does not have this issue

Once connected thru USB2.0, attached drives/volume(s) are detected and mounted automatically with the appropriate protocol.
