FINALLY a PCIe Card That Works! Review by WWII Documentary Filmmaker
Value Quality Price I'm an older experienced Mac & PC user, filmmaker, editor, & producer.
The advantages with Dat Optic;
1 - There's a qualified technician ready to answer 'ALL' your inquiries!
2 - Drivers of many different versions are ALL readily available directly
from the Silicon Image Web Site!
Dat Optic is an honest reliable company. Two different versions of their
PCIe eSATA cards worked in perfect harmony with each other in my older Power Mac G5 Dual Core; The eSATA_PCIe21-B & the eSATA_PCIe8.
A recent experience with competitor FirmTek, (incompatibility issues), proved extremely disappointing for a company with so much expertise. Annoying repetitive directional emails, little or no telephone support, and a disregard for my own expertise in trying to diagnose the problems I was having which included severe system freezes which corrupted data.
If you're still using a Power Mac G5 with 10.4.11, forget about FirmTek. In my opinion although they say their drivers will work, they will NOT. FirmTek driver versions are limited, and are ONLY available from their own web site.
GO WITH DAT OPTIC!
