This high-performance PCIe-to-SAS/SATA 6Gb RAID host controller scale-able up to 128 SAS/SATA II peripheral devices with optional SAS expanders. This card features an integrated 800 MHz RoC for RAID core and SAS microcode, offering a massive storage design flexibility from scalability, cost and performance perspectives.

This card supports RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk or JBOD and has the PCI Express x8 V2.0 (40Gb bandwidth) interface for enhanced performance.

PCIe x8 V2.0 (40Gb/s bandwidth) and 800 MHz RoC for RAID core and SAS microcode, 1GB cache (upgradeable to 4GB), scale-able to 128 devices (with SAS expanders), 4xSFF-8087 internal connectors, 1xSFF-8088 external connector for expansion. Our ARC-1880ix-16 includes four (4) internal mini-SAS (SFF-8088) cables.


Areca high-performance ARC-1880ix-16 series PCIe to SAS RAID host controller can provide up to 128x SAS 6Gb/ SATAI,II, Ill peripheral devices using SAS expanders. The controllers are based on the same RAID kernel of field-proven external RAID adapter and same device drivers with widely used SATA RAID controller. Applications that benefit most features from these controllers include NAS, server RAID solutions, web servers, supercomputing, near-line backup, security systems and streaming applications.
