FWBU2DSATA14 is configured in eSATA/FireWire800 (IEEE 1394b)/USB 2.0 triple-interface mode for connecting one SATA data storage device, e.g. hard disk drives, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and DVD. No additional USB/1394 host drivers are required, for either Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems. Firmware can be programmed through the FireWire or USB ports, simplifying in-field updates.

By using an hardware raid SATA SPM394, a ten drive RAID50 configuration is possible.
