Our sBOX-XTL can be used as a ten drives raid5+hot spare single volume up to 18TB usable space (10x 2.0TB HDD) or TWO independent five drives configures as RAID or JBOD mode, which can connect to TWO separate systems, due to there is TWO independents eSATA channels is used.
PSU Over ratedtm
There are so many enclosure had failed due the PSU (power supply unit) was rated too close, not much buffer or safety net margin, but not with DATOptic sBOX-XTL. We use a hefty 400W PSU to insure the reliability of our enclosure, it's 120% over rated of total power requires by our sBOX-XTL total power consumption.
Available and ready to ship, our sBOX-XTL provides an massive storage solution and fast data rates to next-generation storage used in high-end applications, such as audio/video (A/V) editing. Our sBOX-XTL offers full SATA II and FIS based switching, which when the host software alternates commands to the drives, the commands are able to overlap using the hardware queue and restructure the data back into meaningful packets. The concurrent access and restructuring enables the combined speed of both drives to use the full bandwidth of the 3Gbps SATA host bus. The host controller must have a multi-level hardware queue and support FIS-based SATA switching.
